CACAO
What is this?
Customizable web platform, designed to be used by a tax administration to improve its accounting data collection and analysis process. Taxpayers are provided with a secure and convenient channel to submit accounting files online, in accordance with specific previously established standards.
CACAO also provides advanced tools for the selection of taxpayers, which facilitate the comparison of accounting data between economic sectors and the identification of outliers. In addition, it provides control instruments that allow the graphical visualization of a company's accounting records over time, as well as the comparison of data presented by that same company.
The platform has great flexibility for building custom dashboards, allowing the creation of graphs and tables from the data collected. In addition to accounting data, the tax administration can configure it to receive other types of information, which can be analyzed through dashboards or tables.
Why was it developed?
The platform was developed to improve the work of the tax administration by providing a complete and accurate record of taxpayer accounting. With this information, a link can be established between the facts and the aspects that are of interest to the tax administration. At the same time, it facilitates tax compliance for taxpayers quickly, safely, eliminating the use of paper and without additional costs for its use.
CACAO is based on comprehensive accounting, which means that it uses all daily records, not just managerial or financial reports. With this vision, you can have detailed knowledge of the movements of resources accounted for by the company. In addition, the platform also offers a graphical view of how these accounting flows flow.
Accounting is essential for the tax administration, since it allows verifying whether the returns filed by taxpayers reflect reality. In this way, the platform allows the tax administration to be more efficient, enabling the taxpayer to rectify their declarations when necessary, avoiding unnecessary audits, and carrying out a more efficient, accurate and fast inspection.
Why are we sharing it?
In this work only free software components are used, which includes the database itself. The tax administration uses its own infrastructure to implement CACAO. In the development of CACAO, modern practices of sustainable development have been applied (12 factors, https://12factor.net/pt_br/).
