Tasking Manager
What is it?
It is the most popular web app for teams to coordinate mapping in OpenStreetMap (OSM) which in turn is a collaborative project to create editable and free maps, created by a growing community of mappers from around the world.
Why was it developed?
With this tool, an area of interest to be mapped can be defined and divided into smaller tasks so that the objective can be quickly completed. It shows which areas need to be mapped and which areas need a review for quality assurance.
Why are we sharing it?
The Tasking Manager was initially designed and built by and for the OpenStreetMap Humanitarian Team, but is currently used by many communities and organizations.
Organizations use Tasking Manager to create mapping projects for areas around the world where data is needed to help save or improve lives. Every year, disasters around the world kill nearly 100,000 and affect or displace 200 million people. Mapping can help change this.
