Algorithmic Impact Assessment
What is it?
The AIA is a questionnaire designed to help you assess and mitigate the impacts associated with the implementation of an automated decision-making system.
Why it was developed?
The AIA helps to identify the level of impact of your automation project in accordance with the Directive on Automated Decision Making. The completion and release of an AIA is required by the Directive.
The questionnaire asks around 80 questions relating to your business process, data, system design, algorithm and decision. The results will display a level of impact for your automation project and provide information on the applicable requirements under the Directive. The questionnaire takes at least 35 minutes to complete. We suggest reviewing the instructions in section 3 of the AIA homepage before starting your assessment.
Why we are sharing it?
The information in the AIA is only stored locally on your computer, and the Government of Canada does not have access to the information you put into the tool. If you want to keep your work, save the data locally for future use using the 'Save' button. You can reload a previously saved AIA form using the 'Load JSON file' button.
