LiberaPay
What is this?
Liberapay is an open project that allows you to donate money on a recurring basis to people whose work you appreciate. Payments arrive without restrictions. By default, grantees do not know who their patrons are, and donations are limited to EUR100.00 per week per donor to mitigate the excessive influence. The total amount you give and the total amount you receive are public (you can also stop sharing this information). Liberapay does not take part in the payments, the service is financed by donations to its own account. However, there are payment processing fees.
Why was it developed?
Liberapay was developed to contribute to those people who contribute to the common good and need financial support in their work. Building free software and disseminating free knowledge takes time and money, not only to do the initial work but also to maintain it over time.
Liberapay's recurring donation system is designed to provide a steady base income for creators, allowing them to continue doing great work that benefits everyone.
Why are we sharing it?
Liberapay has impacted people in other parts of the world. We want that impact to reach creators in Latin America and the Caribbean.
