MojaLoop
What is this?
Mojaloop is open-source software that serves as a gold standard for building interoperable payment platforms that connect all digital financial providers and customers, especially the financially excluded. Rather than a financial product or app itself, Mojaloop's open-source plan will remove barriers, including time, money, and technical complexity, that have prevented payment models from meeting the digital financial needs of the 1.7 billion of unbanked people in the world.
Why was it developed?
Mojaloop was designed to provide a reference model for payment interoperability, which can be used to overcome barriers that have held back the expansion of digital financial services. Complete, Tailored, or Model: Organizations can use the Mojaloop Foundation's open-source software to create interoperable digital payment systems that enable seamless and accessible financial services between individual users, banks, government entities, merchants, mobile network operators, providers, and technology companies: connecting the underserved with the emerging digital economy.
Why are we sharing it?
To empower and promote the social, economic, and political inclusion of all, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion, or economic or other status
