What is it?
U-report is a UNICEF digital platform created and designed in 2011 to become a free social messaging tool for every one from anywhere in the world. The U-report chatbot is currently in 68 countries.
Why was it developed?
It was developed with the aim of sharing information not only to raise awareness but also to collect data on specific areas that affect children and the most vulnerable. The responses received are analyzed in real-time, mapped, and displayed on a public dashboard, ensuring that local and national decision-makers can access the issues raised by U-Reporters and implement solutions. more effective to the comments left by young people.
Why are we sharing it?
Because it is a very innovative, free, and safe tool created by UNICEF that supports dialogue and the participation of young people and adolescents, seeking to empower them and exercise their right to participate, on the other hand, this platform provides relevant information on social problems present in both Latin America and the Caribbean, based on the comments and analysis of U-reporters, who through questionnaires become more involved in the search for solutions to current problems. of their communities and when their opinions are published, their motivation to continue being an active part of the change we need increases.
U-report needs more promotion in order to increase its presence and reach more countries to continue promoting research, the development of new strategies and technologies accessible to all, and saving many lives in emergency situations.
